A photo journal...

Well, I am going to give this a shot. The idea is this "one picture a day for 365 days". So far, I am behind. When I do work on it it is great fun. Here are a couple of my first images.

City Lights

Haylee and I decided to experiment downtown. We were on a mission to get some city lights in action. She actually wanted to be in some of the shots (most) which is "COMPLETELY OUT OF CHARACTER" for her. We had dinner afterward at the Wazee Super Club, our plan was to shoot some more after dinner, but it was tooooo cold. I am sure we will do it again. I love sharing this art with my kids!

Hands&Feet

Something fun between shoots. I wanted to post some shots that I love! Some of these images go back 3 or 4 years, and the subjects are still clients today. I am truely grateful for each and every person that chooses me to photograph their special occasions.

First baby of the year

I am not so good at this blogging thing...clearly. Need to do a little catching up. Winter-shooting indoors and trying to make it exciting, not easy. This little guy was so happy and easy going, he put everything right in his mouth, that is what a 5 month old does. His big brother was there during the shoot, but did not want to be involved in the photos. I had to bribe him to take a picture with baby brother and his mom. I used a new set up for the shoot, I think it turned out well, it included bargains from Home Depot, the fabric store...and my most favorite place the thrift store.

Family photos...torture for some, great fun for me. The Sevdalian family had not had a family portrait in a verrryyyy long time. I found this great location a month ago during a senior portrait session. It was only a matter of time before I found the right family to bring back the spot. I wanted to shoot at dusk to take advantage of Denver's cityscape in the background. The results were exactly what we wanted. This family is not used to hanging out without extreme emotions flaring at some point, so we made sure to include some wild shots at the end of the shoot. They photographed beautifully.

The Ringelmann Family

Last Saturday I spent some time with the Ringelmann's at their home. It has been quite some time since they have had family pictures. They wanted some new family photos to send to family back in South Africa. My son went with me to assist, I must admit he is responsible for the fabulous smiles they have in some of these shots. The family dog was a bit camera shy, didn't want to be a part of too many shots. We had about 8 inches of snow on the ground the day before this shoot, but most of it was gone. What a beautiful family, we had a lot of fun.
