We walked out the back door to take some family portraits. A beautiful day, that turned brisk fast. We managed to take some shots with the family pet, Charlie. He did a great job. Just in time for Christmas.
This was my second session with this beautiful little girl, and she was only 6 weeks old. This session was more casual and spontaneous than the first. Almost entirely window light, my favorite.
This shoot was about as relaxed and easy as they get. We took a short walk in my neighborhood to a greenbelt and a park. Brother and sister were more than happy to climb trees, do kart wheels, toss the football, and lounge on my famous (in my little world) orange couch. I first took pictures with this family two years ago, they are great to work with. We discussed our next session and what that will involve, should be fun.
I have been up to Aspen twice this summer to shoot weddings with a good friend. We have such a great time working together. Both weddings photographed beautifully.
This little beauty just arrived in our neighborhood a couple of weeks ago. You may not guess from the pictures that she was 7 days old, but she was. So healthy... and an angel during the entire shoot. Good for me, we were able to spend a lot of time shooting. I have an awesome job!
We went to a nearby park for this shoot. We were fighting mosquito's the entire time. I took along this freshly painted folding chair, which came in handy. Alyssa was a great model, she looks beautiful.
I am a photographer, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, baker, knitter, reader, thrift store shopper, lover of our Lord and Savior, love to laugh, and I found what I want to do when I grow up.
I have been attracted to things that require creativity since elementary school. Photography specifically is a medium I have enjoyed since high school. I decided to get more serious with it about 7 years ago, at which point I took a couple classes at a community college. My friends and family were kind enough, first, to encourage me in my pursuit of this art, and then also to stand in front of my lens as I began to learn and practice portrait photography. For the first couple of years my portfolio was filled with portraits of these people whom I love and am thankful for. I will always be learning, and look forward to each and every time I use my camera to capture life as it happens.
